DAILY PROCEDURES

During the initial warmer months of the year,
GMS Students enjoy the opportunity for extra Outside Playtime, before getting ready for their school day.

During the colder Winter months,
Parents check-in their children at Designated Drop-off Location to school directly.

Preschool and Kindergarten students attend to their own self-care tasks upon arrival.
To include: Removing their outdoor gear, and hanging up their coats, putting away their hats & gloves, etc, removing their outdoor footwear, unpacking their lunches and water bottles & put on their dedicated indoor footwear in order to be ready for their classroom work and learning. Out Toddler Program practices similarly, with more guidance and assistance as needed.

Because we priotise organisation and the practice of consistency, and greatest ease in transitions for all, Gateway requests all parents’ fellow cooperation in encouraging student Independence for each Student:
To let all Students walk themselves in, after drop-off,  And to walk themselves to their designated classroom door / area, everyday, to begin their school day.
Parent Teacher Conferences are the best time for parents and teachers to connect in more in depth conversation and discussion:  While a brief message at drop-off is always welcome, If you need to check in with your child’s teacher about something either more than brief at Pick-up, Or regarding anything behavioural or private: Please email your lead teacher so they can attend best for you;  We Thank You in helping us ensure unanimous respect of dependable care in structured routines for our classrooms, and for all our students’ focus on their wonderful self-care work, during drop-off times.  If you have any additional questions, please contact either the Lead Teacher or Director to schedule a conference so that we may answer any concerns or needs you have, either on the Telephone or In Person, in a private Setting.  Please don’t hesitate to communicate any questions, concerns, or needs that you or your family have. We firmly believe that this is a cooperative partnership, and we are here to support your child and your family in whatever ways we can.

All Children will need to bring their own Packed Lunch, daily.  Gateway Montessori provides healthy snacks, daily.
